Oh yes… it’s my first english sparkling wine. The first, one at all.
I was in London and here i met my first english sparkling wine… Ne avevo sentito parlare tenpo fa, almeno due anni fa. Nell’Inghilterra meridionale stavano cominciando a produrre vini spumantizzati, come già facevano i Romani e come oggi permette il cambiamento climatico. Vini spumanti, proprio perché ricavati da uva di fatto acerba o non completamente matura. Desideravo da tempo soddisfare la mia curiosità e l’occasione l’ho avuta a Londra, dove ho assaggiato i vini della ditta Ridgeview, from Sussex. Tutti vini ben fatti, quelli che ho assaggiato; tutti viranti verso il morbido, l’abboccato, il fiore, il piccolo frutto a bacca bianca, la bollicina abbondante ma non fastidiosa. Un piacevole bicchiere di vino spumantizzato, sparkling appunto, senza troppa originalità rispetto ai francesi né per scelte vinicole né per immagine. Ho assaggiato il Bloomsbury 2009: leggero e piacevole… Ridgeview’s Signature Blend. Blend: a Chardonnay dominant blend which is supported by the fullness of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier; il Fitzrovia 2010, morbido e poco profumato di rosa e piccoli frutti, elegante ma con poca personalità… Unusual for Rosé this blend is Chardonnay dominant. We then add a portion of our carefully hand crafted red wine made from our ripest Pinots, il Cavendish 2010, più complesso di tutti: note di tostatura, più corposo, più interessante… Like the majority of Champagnes, Cavendish is a blend of all three varieties dominated by the red fruits of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier; il Marksman Blanc de Blancs 2009, leggero, piacevole e poco profumato… Exclusive cuvee for Marks and Spencer developed in partnership with Sue Daniels, M&S Winemaker. Blend: Chardonnay with subtle hints of oak; e il South Ridge Blanc de Noir 2009, piacevolmente fresco e leggero nonostante il pinot nero… Exclusive blend for Laithwaites Wine. Blend: A Chardonnay dominant blend which is supported by the fullness of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Il mio preferito il Cavendish 2010… ed ecco un po’ di storia da cui si capisce che ci stanno provando da tempo: compliementi!

Lo immaginavo… ma cosa ne dici del vino Mirco?
Sarei curioso di assaggiarlo per poterlo giudicare piu da vicino , pero’ la terra anglossassone sappiamo tutti che e’ famosa nel mondo , ma non certo per le qualita’ dei suoi vini , detto questo i miracoli in campo enologico sono possibili , anche se personalmente ne dubito parecchio .
